Nik and Sons Idem Boat Restoration

Nik and Sons
Repairing and restoring Idem Sailboats, Alden O Boats, Lymans, Electric boats and other wooden boats on Upper St Regis Lake as well as rigging including wire splicing and assisting boat owners with stepping their masts and bending the sails.

"Keeping the boats healthy and the people safe."

Throughout the year, Nik is an Adirondack Caretaker on Upper St. Regis Lake and has been the elected Town Justice in the Town of Brighton since 1994. He spends his remaining time repairing and restoring Idems, O boats and other wooden boats in and around Upper St Regis Lake. In 2000 he was fortunate to work with Nelson Crawford crafting the first new Idem built in over 100 years, the "Millennium Falcon". This boat replaced in the St. Regis Yacht Club Idem class the "Water Witch" which was gifted and is located in the lobby of the Adirondack Blue Mountain Lake Museum. His shop is just down the road and around the bend in the same town of Paul Smiths and he welcomes you to contact him to schedule repairs or to visit him in the shop. Below is a sampling of projects.
